The CPC Youth Committee was established in 2014, following CPC’s Annual General Meeting in Thunder Bay.

During its first term, 2014-2016, the committee was comprised of the following members: Natalia Kusendova from Toronto, Artur Winogrodzki from Winnipeg, and Agata Starczyk from Calgary. The committee set out several objectives for itself, out of which, the majority were completed successfully and others are still in progress. Objectives completed in 2014-2016 are the following:

  1. Create a list of Polonia youth and young adult organisations in Canada and make it available on the CPC website: kpk.org
  2. Survey youth and young adults about their sentiments on being Polish-Canadian, the role of the Canadian Polish Congress, and the role of Polish culture in their lives
  3. Serve as a bridge for Polonia youth and young adult organizations and the CPC.
  4. Host online Youth Forum discussion meetings.
  5. Create a social media (Facebook) networking group to increase awareness of Polonia projects across Canada and serve as catalyst for collaboration and the exchange of ideas.
  6. Serve as a platform that youth and adult organization can trust and turn to for help when faced with challenge

The committee for the second term, 2016-2018 is comprised of the following members who sit on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Polish Congress:

Natalia Kusendova from Toronto (Committee Chair), Andrew Dabrowski from Brampton and Mike Kustra from Mississauga.

The committee set out several objectives for the 2016-2018 term, including:

  1. Serve as a bridge for Polonia youth and young adult organizations and the CPC.
  2. Host a concurrent youth congress at the time of the Canadian Polish Congress AGM.
  3. Increase youth and young adult participation in the life of Polonia and the CPC.
  4. Encourage membership of youth organizations in the CPC.
  5. Create opportunities for mentorship between experienced Polonia and the younger generation.

We are extremely happy to report, that the most important objective was achieved in 2017, with a concurrent Youth Congress taking place at the same time as the CPC AGM. The Youth Congress resulted from the cooperation of Quo Vadis Conferences Canada and the CPC Youth Committee.“Quo Vadis 2017: Nowa Fala” took place in Burlington, Ontario on October 13-14, 2017. The two day conference was attended by Polish-Canadian students and young professionals between the ages of 18 and 40, who engaged in networking and further development of the vibrant Polish community in Canada.
